Re: Every meeting could be our last goodbye
These past few months, I attended the funeral wake of three elderies I knew. Two of them were my extended relatives, while the other was an elder of my old church. They were around the age of my grandma, and upon hearing the news, my grandma grieved the loss of some of her closest relatives and friends.
Reading livingkindfully’s writing Every meeting could be our last goodbye could not be more true. The last time I met one of the elderlies were last year, while the others might be a decade or so. Some of their funeral photos were unlike the faces that I remembered the last time I met them.
One of the silver lining attending a wake is catching up with relatives and friends that we seldom get acquinted with. The last time I met some of my extended cousins they were still in schools or colleges, and now most of them are in their 20s and 30s. Ironically, for some of them who live in different towns or even abroad, our meeting might as well be our last goodbye.
