Let’s swim 🏊

I used to hate swimming. In fact, it took me quite a back pain to finally make me learn to swim. At the age of 33. I took a private lesson to learn the basics, but it took me a while to overcome my fear of drowning. After exploring some pools in town, I finally found a swimming pool with the perfect depth (1.4m) that assured me I will not die of drowning. Then Covid-19 hit, and my swimming routine also took a break.

The back pain returns almost every year, in addition to high cholesterol level, pushed me to restart my swimming routine. Now I swim 3-4 times a week, and thanks to all the technology smartwatch and Google Gemini I treated it as a game challenge, and was able to improve my freestyle pace.

I was also inspired by the movie "Nyad", about a 60 year old swimmer who attempted to swim across the ocean for 60 hours straight. I was laughing with my wife because I never even swim for 60 minutes straight.

People who swim regularly tend to be healthier. As a living testament, an 84 year old Mr L who barely miss a day at my swim club, and a certain 70+ year old president whom legend says the pool need to be set at a certain temperature.

So, let's swim!
