Less Overthinking
Last Friday, I had a bit of table-tennis practice with a coach. I'm not a newbie but I'm not that good either. The coach always starts with drills, forehand backhand and such. I tried my best to hit the balls consistently but I failed to do so, on average I could only deliver 5 straight good shots before making errors. At some point, the coach told me to stop over thinking, it didn't matter if I miss the shots, just focus on my forms and postures when receiving and hitting the balls.
I think I am an overthinking person.... an overthinker? Last June I took my family for a vacation to Singapore. June is usually known as hot and no rain, right? A day or two before going, I decided to check the weather forecast, and to my shock, according to the forecast it would rain every day during our trip, especially on our planned visit to the Universal Studios. I was telling my wife how we need to have backup plans when it would rain, also prepare for umbrellas and rain ponchos. When we finally got to Singapore, it only rained a little shower for 30 minutes, on the last day, out of our 4 day trip. We used the umbrellas because of the sun not the rain, and the rain ponchos were only used for the Jurassic Park ride.
So yeah, I need to keep telling myself not to overthink everything. Even when I started blogging again, I sometimes thought what if nobody read my blog, or what if they read it but they don't like it. Well I'm glad (and hope) people on bearblog are just ordinary people like me, not a noble prize in literature winner.
It is perfectly OK to be imperfect ~ somebody imperfect
All right, see you back on the table tennis arena!
